Two men were sentenced to 17 years for trying to import a gun and drugs through Stansted Airport, highlighting serious crime concerns.
The Border Force officers found the gun on July 27, 2023. It was packed with two empty magazines. The investigation revealed the package was sent from the USA to a fake address in south London. Colly’s IP address linked him to the shipment.
Just days later, police spotted Colly and Redhead leaving Colly’s flat. They met a delivery driver and picked up a parcel. Inside, officers found half a kilo of cocaine hidden in a wooden desk organizer. They were arrested on the spot.
Messages on their phones showed they were deep into importing both the gun and drugs. They even shared photos of firearms and cocaine. A search of Colly’s home turned up a samurai sword, a machete, and eight kilos of cannabis.
In court, both men received 17-year sentences. Redhead will be deported after serving his time. The National Crime Agency is committed to tackling gun and drug crime, emphasizing the dangers these criminals pose to communities.
