Edinburgh: A nursery is in hot water after a recent inspection. The Murrayfield Nursery got a weak rating. An agency worker was reported for how they handled a child.

Inspectors noticed the worker’s interaction was not great. It didn’t show proper care for the child’s feelings. This raised some serious red flags. The Care Inspectorate is the one that checks on places like this.

They found that not all kids were getting the nurturing care they need. The report said the worker was referred to the Scottish Social Services Council. They look into whether workers are fit to do their jobs.

The report also mentioned that staff should speak up if they see poor practices. This inspection follows another one from November 2023, which also gave a weak rating.

However, there were some improvements noted, especially in the baby room. Staff were kinder and asked kids if they wanted their nappies changed. The nursery’s environment was clean and well-kept, which is a plus.

Murrayfield Nursery has been asked for a comment on this situation.
