Essex is set to welcome 114 new childcare spots, helping working parents find the support they need for their little ones
Eight early years providers will benefit from this funding, totaling £331,370. It’s all part of a government grant aimed at expanding childcare options.
Starting in April 2024, eligible working parents can access more hours of childcare. Two-year-olds will get 15 hours a week, while kids aged nine months to three years will also qualify for 15 hours.
By September 2025, even younger kids can access 30 hours of care each week. This is a game-changer for many families in Essex.
Essex County Council has received nearly £3 million to support these changes. Eight providers have met the criteria to receive funding, including Blossom Barn and Little Nipperz.
This is just the beginning! A second round of funding will be available in autumn 2025, ensuring even more childcare options for families.
