Brentwood: I love Italian food, so I was excited to visit FIGO. This family-run restaurant serves up some seriously delicious dishes. When my starter arrived, I was shocked. It was bigger than my face!

FIGO has a cozy vibe, blending tradition with modern flair. Their menu is packed with regional flavors that reflect Italy’s rich culinary history. I asked the server for a recommendation, and they pointed me to the ‘Cozze.’

When it came out, I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was a huge pizza-dough shell, seasoned perfectly. Inside, there were mussels swimming in a smoky sauce. It was a game changer!

The ‘Cozze’ is a classic Italian dish. It’s mussels with cherry tomatoes, garlic, and a splash of white wine. At FIGO, they take it up a notch by wrapping it in a tasty crust. Perfect for dipping!

I also tried the Melanzane Alla Parmigiana. It’s a baked aubergine dish with layers of cheese and tomatoes. It came in a big tray, and honestly, one starter could be a meal.

Both starters were so good! The sauces were rich, and the mussels had a nice spicy kick. I could have just had those and skipped the rest, but I had to try the pasta too.

Even though I was full, I couldn’t resist two pasta dishes. The La Gran ‘Romana’ is served in a Pecorino cheese wheel. It was heavenly! The pasta was cooked just right, and the cheese was rich but not overwhelming.

Then I had the Pasta de la Nonna, which had aubergine, tomato, and ricotta. I love aubergine, and this dish was a perfect mix of flavors. The creamy cheese and crunchy pistachios were a match made in heaven.

And of course, I had to finish with tiramisu. FIGO’s version was unique and delicious. The mascarpone was thick and creamy, making it a dessert I’d definitely come back for.

They also have a great cocktail menu. I tried the Bella Vita, a sweet mix of Grappa and Limoncello. If you want something fizzy, the FIGO Fizz is refreshing and delightful.

I was worried about the quality with such a big menu, but I was pleasantly surprised. The seafood was fresh, the cheese was plentiful, and the tiramisu was authentic. I can’t wait to go back and try more!
