Two individuals were taken to the hospital following a suspected gas leak in Dagenham, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
Fire crews and paramedics rushed to the scene after getting calls about a gas smell. You could see several ambulances and a fire engine parked there. It looked pretty serious at first.
The firefighters checked the property for any gas leaks but didn’t find anything. They wrapped things up about an hour after they arrived.
A spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service said they got the call at 3:53 PM. They sent out a bunch of resources, including ambulance crews and their Hazardous Area Response Team.
They treated the two patients on-site before taking them to the hospital. The London Fire Brigade also confirmed they were called about the gas smell and did a thorough sweep of the place.
In the end, it was a false alarm, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry, right?
