Exciting finds at a West Lothian salvage yard include real plane parts from a new Sky series starring Colin Firth, perfect for aviation fans.
Aviation enthusiasts are in for a treat. Genuine parts from Boeing 747 and 757 planes are available. You can find everything from window sections to overhead lockers.
These parts were used in the production of “Lockerbie: A Search for Truth.” The series stars Colin Firth, Catherine McCormack, and Sam Troughton.
Carnival Films sourced these items while making the show. They’re currently stored at The Salvage Yard on Drovers Road in Broxburn, not far from Edinburgh Airport.
This yard is known for selling antiques and unique second-hand items. If you’re a fan of “Lockerbie,” you might want to check it out.
While there are no more seats left, the window sections are in wooden frames and can be easily removed. The overhead lockers are from a Cathay Pacific Boeing 747, and the window sections are from a Boeing 757.
The series dives into the tragic Lockerbie disaster, which occurred on December 21, 1988. A bomb exploded on Pan Am Flight 103, killing 259 people on board and 11 residents in Lockerbie.
The investigation took years, leading to the conviction of a Libyan intelligence officer in 2001. Dr. Jim Swire, a key figure in the series, has spent his life seeking justice for his daughter and the other victims.
He believes the series offers an honest look at the families’ struggles for truth. It’s a powerful story that resonates deeply with those affected by the tragedy.
