A 16-year-old boy faces serious charges after a shocking incident in Harlow, involving attempted murder and kidnapping, leaving the community in disbelief.
On January 7, around 2:15 PM, a 17-year-old was reportedly forced into a car on Terminus Street. Then, just a couple of hours later, emergency services were called to Staple Tye Shopping Centre. They found a man in his 30s with life-threatening injuries.
The police quickly shut down the shopping center. Paramedics worked hard to help the victim before he was rushed to the hospital. Thankfully, he’s still getting treatment there.
The police believe these two incidents are linked. They made arrests the next day. A 16-year-old from Harlow was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, and more.
This boy can’t be named due to legal reasons. He appeared in court and is set to go back for a more serious hearing soon. Another man, 19, was also arrested but has been released on bail.
Two more teens from North Weald were caught up in this too. One is 19 and the other is 17. They’re both out on bail as the investigation continues. It’s a shocking situation that has left many in the community shaken.
