A 17-year-old was caught with drugs and a knife in Chelmsford, raising concerns about safety in the area.
Officers were on patrol when they spotted him in an alley near New Writtle Street. When he saw the police, he tried to run. But they caught him quickly in Central Park.
They searched him and found 111 small packages of drugs, some cash, and a knife. He was arrested for possession with intent to supply drugs and for having a bladed article.
Right now, he’s still in custody while the Essex Police look into the case. Detective Chief Inspector Nathan Hutchinson praised the quick actions of the officers. He said this helps keep drugs off the streets and makes Chelmsford safer.
The police are always on the lookout, using technology to catch wanted suspects. They’re working hard to reduce crime in the area, and it seems to be paying off.
