George and Kevin McNab reflect on their four-decade journey at Fettes College, sharing laughs, challenges, and a strong bond as they continue their groundskeeping careers.
They were just 16 when they joined the groundskeeping team in 1985. Their dad, who worked there too, told them about the job openings. It was a family affair!
At first, they didn’t think they’d stay in the same job for so long. But now, Kevin is the Head of Grounds, and George is the Deputy Head. They’re both really happy about it.
They’ve had their ups and downs, but their bond has only grown stronger. They joke about having minor disagreements, but they always manage to work things out.
Over the years, they’ve seen a lot of changes, like new technology and promotions. George even met his wife at the college! How sweet is that?
Kevin shared that taking over as Head of Grounds was a big milestone for him. He loves working with George, and they have a blast together.
After four decades, they still enjoy their jobs and hope to stick around for another ten years. They love being outdoors and staying active.
