Scott Kerr returned from a camping trip to discover his car destroyed by fire, leaving him shocked and frustrated over the senseless act.
Scott loves hiking in the Bathgate Hills. He left his navy blue Ford Fiesta on Friday, January 18. But when he came back on Saturday, it was a total wreck.
The fire had destroyed everything. Scott couldn’t even recognize his own car. He said, “I was gobsmacked. My mate asked where my car was, and we realized it was the burnt one.”
The damage was shocking. The wheels melted, and the windows were smashed. Even a bat was found nearby. Scott lost a lot of personal items, including his work boots and a special statue from his parents.
Now, he has to hire a car for work, which is a big hassle. He’s also worried that the people who did this know where he lives.
Scott expressed his anger, saying, “Bathgate is a nice place, but there’s too much senseless crime.” He’s appealing for anyone with information to contact the police.
Police Scotland confirmed they received a report about the burnt car. They’re treating the fire as willful and are investigating further.
