West Calder: Police were busy on Harburn Drive after a serious incident. They had to force their way into a home around 4 PM on Monday.

Locals were shocked to see firefighters and police swarming the area. One resident, Marlyn Williamson, thought it was just a false alarm at first. But then she saw more police cars arriving.

The police had cordoned off parts of the street and a garden. It looked pretty serious, and they even had to break down a door. No one was told to leave their homes, but the area was taped off.

On Tuesday morning, a big forensic tent was set up in the garden of one house. Officers were keeping watch around the cordoned area.

A video from the scene showed police vehicles everywhere, along with a fire engine. The exact details of what happened are still unclear. Police Scotland has been asked for more information.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was also there to help out. They arrived shortly after the alarm was raised and managed to get into the house. They left the scene about an hour later.
