Essex is bracing for heavy rain and strong winds, with warnings from the Met Office about potential flooding and service disruptions.
On Sunday and Monday, a band of rain will sweep across England. West Essex, especially places like Brentwood and Chipping Ongar, will see the worst of it.
They’re warning that heavy rain could lead to local flooding. Some homes and businesses might even face power cuts or service interruptions.
If flooding happens, it could delay or cancel train and bus services. Driving could get tricky too, with spray and flooding causing road closures.
Today, there’s also a yellow wind warning for London and South East England. This warning is in effect from 7 am to 5 pm.
Southern Essex areas like Southend and Basildon will feel the impact. The Met Office says gusty winds and rain will continue moving eastward.
Coastal routes and communities might see large waves and spray. Some bus and train services could be delayed, and high-sided vehicles may face challenges on exposed routes.
