Samantha shared her frustration, saying, “I’m not waking up at 6am to do nothing.” She’s not alone; other local business owners are feeling the pressure too.

She loves her street and the community vibe but worries about the future. “Once you get one chain, more will follow,” she said.

Interestingly, not everyone is against Gail’s. Some residents have even started a counter-petition supporting the chain. They argue that it brings a new energy to the area.

One local mum wishes her neighborhood had a Gail’s, while another resident sees it as a sign of positive change.

Gail’s has been asked for a comment but hasn’t responded yet. The situation is definitely stirring up mixed feelings in Walthamstow.
